Thanks for your question Kathy! Products and techniques for controlling frizz can vary depending on the hair. Fortunately, I know you and your hair very well. It’s important to prep your hair before you blowdry it. Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother is nice. Emulsify about 2 pumps in your hands and run it through the mid shaft and ends. This repels moisture and protects the hair from any heat (dryer, flat iron). To finish and tame any flyways, use one pump of Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid. A little goes a long way for both of these products.
When you blowdry your hair, make sure to use the nozzle that came with your blowdryer. Without it, the air is not controlled and can create more frizz and static. If your dryer doesn’t have a nozzle, you may want to purchase one that comes with it. Click here to see an article on consumer top 10 blowdryers.
One last thing, when you dry your hair, always direct the air DOWN the hair shaft. Never direct the air AGAINST it. When you direct the air down, you’re closing the cuticle of the hair and creating more shine and less frizz. Click here to see a nice tutorial I found on youtube.
Thanks again for posting your question, Kathy! I hope this helps.
Thank you so much Michael! Im confident your tips will help. I have always meant to ask you those questions but seem to forget. Your forum gave me the opportunity! I will be by the salon soon to purchase those products.
Hi Michael! It is Shaena! I am sorry I have not been in for a cut in a while. I actually need one soon, so I am going to call and schedule an appointment. My mom said to tell you she forgot the card you gave her at the salon, but she remembered your site. Can you email me your hours? Thanks! I hope all is well!
