About Me

I’m a stylist who specializes in haircutting.

I currently work at Rizzieri Salon and have been since 1995.  I totally love what I do.  I believe that what we are is much more than just creating a great look.  The art in what we do is making people feel amazing.  For me, that is what it’s all about.

I’m an educator who loves to share knowledge.

I’ve been an educator at Rizzieri Aveda Schools for Beauty and Wellness since 1999.  I started teaching to get over my fear of public speaking.  It has turned into so much more than overcoming a fear.  Being an educator has become a big part of what keeps me motivated.  I get to teach very creative people, inspire them, and watch them grow into true professionals.

Michael, I have been going through your blog and totally enjoying your thoughts and comments on your life’s profession. I never realized how passionate you were about your work…. I am very proud of you, keep it up, I know it will help others learning this profession. Marilyn S.

  4. Michael – I love your blog! Who knew that book, a little last minute add-on birthday gift (and belated at that) would inspire you to do a blog. I’ve known for a long time how passionate you are about your work, but I never realized you were such a good writer as well. Keep it up – it’s interesting, educational, and engaging even for those of us who are not in your profession.

HI MICHAEL – I LOVE YOUR BLOG ALSO! SOMETHING MORE INTERESTING TO READ ON FB. I THINK EVERYBODY’S PROFESSION IS IMPORTANT. YOU CAN’T HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER, THEY ALL CONNECT TO EACH OTHER IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT THEIR JOB IS SO IRRELEVANT, BUT IT’S NOT. SO KEEP ON WRITING AND WE WILL KEEP ON READING.
    LOVE AND MISS YOU CYN

  9. After reading about your fear of public speaking, I would love to learn more about how you overcame this. I’m a master bladesmith but for me to get the truth out there I need to stand up and talk to stylists.
