Check out these students at Rizzieri Aveda School. All of the Senior Cosmetology students set their mannequins with their iron of choice and styled them. The March 11′ cosmetology class voted on the top 3 and this is who received the most votes. Kelsi, Alexis, and Lauren.
I’ve noticed something rather interesting, lately. Most of the students that I work with on the clinic can set hair REALLY well. Not just a hand full, I mean most of the Senior Cosmetology students. Whether it’s fingerwaves, pincurls, rollers, or working with irons, they are finally realizing the fact that good hair setting is the foundation of styling.
It’s the first time I’ve seen this much consistency in setting since I can remember. It made me think, why?
The team of educators work hard on the teachings of properly setting hair, but there’s more. In the past year or so, Sal Rizzieri has dedicated every Thursday to demonstrate his 30 + years of experience and continues to do so. Wow! I wish I had that when I was in school. Also, students get all of the Rsession Tools as part of their kit including the Nalu Waver and Root Control. Not to mention that a handful of students get the opportunity to assist Frank Rizzieri in the shows he works during New York Fashion Week.
I don’t think that this is a coincidence, and I’m happy to see the consistency as far as setting hair. Big ups to the students. And a BIG shout out to Kelsi Rodgers, Alexis Inverso, and Lauren Soupik. Great job!
