It’s great to work with lead stylists Frank Rizzieri and Kevin Ryan of (RSession Pro Tools) at New York Fashion Week. What’s equally cool is the talented team of hairstylists that work behind the scenes. At the Milly Spring 2013 Show it was a wonderful surprise to see my old friend and co-worker Brian Wright, now salon owner of Elleven Studio Salon in Ocean City, NJ. During down time, we did a quick interview. The interview shows how passionate we are for what we do, yet, we can’t help but act like a couple of goofballs and have some fun. Enjoy.
So what are your thoughts on the look for Milly Spring 2013? Feel free to leave a comment.

You know those moments when all the stars and planets are aligned and everything comes together just right? That’s what it was like during the backstage hair prep for Kevork Kiledjian’s 2012 fall/winter collection at Milk Studios. The lead hairstylists were Kevin Ryan and Frank Rizzieri for Rsession Tools (http://www.rsessiontools.com). Lead makeup artist, James Kaliardos for MAC. Here is a video of the action backstage. Enjoy.

Check out my interview with Daniel Holzberger. He’s the Creative Director for Van Michael Salon, Aveda educator, and NAHA winner. He spent an entire day with Rizzieri Schools’ senior students and was nice enough to do the interview on a break. Enjoy.
Tell me your thoughts on what Daniel says about education…
Music – “Fools Rush In” by Frank Sinatra mashed with “10 Crack Commandments” by Notorious B.I.G. Produced by DJ Cappel & Smitty.
Check out “In my Chair” with Elias Bitar. Owner/D.J. of Couscous. Check out his restaurant here. We made this video at Rizzieri Studio Salon . Filmed, directed, and edited by Gordon Gips. Enjoy.
One of the best things about seeing clients is the diversity of all the people who sit in my chair. Physicians, artists, business owners, etc. I wanted to collaborate with Elias and Gordon to make this project happen. Both agreed we are all happy with the results.
What do you think?
I’ve been talking a lot about my role as an educator, but my role in the salon is equally cool. Seeing clients at Rizzieri Salon keeps me current and allows me to work on some pretty cool people. Check out my clients Darren Pulito and Lou Vastardis, creators of the brand new app Vineloop.
Vineloop is a new, highly addictive app that allows people to get recommendations on wine, beer, restaurants, movies, books, etc. from people they trust. Watch this short movie here to get the idea. Download the app here.
Don’t forget, download Vineloop here. Enjoy.
So what are your favorite apps?
It was great to do a class with Frank Rizzieri. We had the opportunity of teaching a class together on a pixie variation for the Rizzieri Masters Program. It’s always a good time when we get to teach together. Here are some photos of the class.
Our models, Angela and Alicia.
Jon Reyman came to Rizzieri Aveda Schools and did a 2 day workshop last week. The students and staff (including myself) had an amazing experience.
Jon was nice enough to allow the interview. With the help of Claire (model) and Kristen (camera 2) we quickly shot a really good video.
Jon Reyman’s body of work is self explanatory if you go to his site here. He also is the creator of BeautyVT.com, a great site for with many tutorials for consumers. Check that out here.
Thank you Jon.
